This is the prettiest lamp I have ever had. I needed a lamp to provide ambient lighting in a particular corner of my living room and this lamp was absolutely perfect. The other new lamp I bought really paled in comparison.
This is not a reading lamp, although I understand you can get a different shade color that may make it more useful as a reading lamp.
I worried about spending this much money on an accent lamp, but I can't say enough about it. It was really worth it.
